When you defeat a lower champion you will receive experience for both the Slayer and Hitpoints skills. The amount of experience you receive will depend on which level of champion you are fighting. The higher the level of the champion, the more experience will be gained when it is defeated. Once you have defeated one of the ten champions, a banner will be displayed on the north wall, detailing your victory with that champion. Various creatures around RuneScape have chosen the bravest and strongest champions of their race to fight for them in an arena beneath the Champions' Guild. Around the edges of the arena are sat mystery figures, the ""Champions of Champions"". One of these mighty champions may deem to challenge you after you have fought ALL of the lower champions. The lower champions are far too lowly to have a seat in the arena, but will challenge you when you have made yourself known as an enemy of their race. While fighting your way through the different monsters of RuneScape, you may find that one drops a message from a champion, challenging you to a duel.
